Philanthropy

Here at Alpha Chi Omega we are all bonded by our universal passion for our philanthropy, Domestic Violence Awareness. Through our chapter fundraising events and involvement on campus and in our community we are able to raise awareness about domestic violence and provide support to survivors. We host a variety of week-long events throughout the year, including Purple Ribbon Week, Healthy Relationships Week, and Denim Day. We also hold other smaller-scaled philanthropic events to highlight these campaigns and volunteer as a chapter in events in support of our philanthropy.

Our sisters of Rho Chapter make time to participate individually in a wide range of volunteering in the community outside of our chapter's efforts. We know that we can make a difference in the world by giving back to the community that surrounds us and by pouring our efforts into a purpose that is greater than us.

Purple Ribbon Week

October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and when we host our largest annual philanthropy event, Purple Ribbon Week. Our Purple Ribbon Week is filled with fun activities for members of the Greek and UW community to participate in such as a basketball tournament, french fries feed, Walk-a-Mile relay race, and Purple Ribbon Gala. Throughout this week, Alpha Chi is joined by members of the Greek community, fellow UW students, and family members in raising awareness for domestic violence and fundraising to support survivors.
