Scholarship:

Although our sisters love to have fun, we never forget why we came to UW in the first place: our academic education! Grades are a top priority at Rho Chapter, and we make sure to balance our social life with studying. We have incentives for every member to maintain a high GPA, and give out awards to the women who receive the top grades each quarter.

Alpha Chi Omega consistently maintains an all-chapter GPA above the University of Washington All Sorority and All Women GPAs. During fall quarter 2009, Alpha Chi was ranked 3rd in grades out of the 16 current chapters at UW. Along with the outstanding house GPA, 50 of our women in Alpha Chi received GPAs above a 3.5 establishing themselves on the UW Dean’s List!

Scholarship is one of our essential ideals. Rho Chapter members are eligible for the following awards, totaling over $5000 annually:

  • Iota Iota Alumnae Chapter Scholarship
  • Jenny Rogers Cole & Marcella Cole Burton Memorial Scholarship
  • Seattle Alumnae Panhellenic Scholarships

Additionally, members of Alpha Chi Omega nationwide are eligible to apply for other scholarships awarded by the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation at our national headquarters.

To promote academic achievement, Rho Chapter provides incentives to each member to excel academically, including study tables, library excursions, weekly prize drawings from the A/B bowl (for good test/quiz grades), 24-hour quiet at the house during finals week, and wireless internet access for all members. To remain in good standing, all members must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
